The smell on this was less strong than I expected, based on what I'd heard about this strain. It was definitely fruity and sweet. However, Bodhi Seeds - an experienced and respected strain developer - brand 'Dragon Fruit' strain is known to have killer smell, like knock your socks off. If the smell I expected was a song, this smell is a soft hum.
The flower itself is gorgeous, bright neon greens made lighter by very nice looking crystals. There are just a few very pale little hairs peeking out. The nug is very light feeling, with a super loose structure of dense nuggets.
As soon as I started handling the marijuana it became clear why the smell is so soft. The flower broke up into dust. These buds were so over-dried. It was actually a profoundly sad moment when I realized just how dry it was. It's definitely sad when some marijuana doesn't get the love it deserves.
Smoking this was tough. Most of the attempts to light the bowl resulted in a flare-up due to the dryness. There was a tight sting to the smoke, both on the inhale across the tongue and throat, then on the exhale it stung the nose - even if you exhaled through the mouth.
The flavor was good, other than the sting - likely the result of it's very over-dried state. It had bright tropical fruit punch taste with raspberry tones on the exhale. Under it all was a nice pungent marijuana flavor.
The high was somewhat meditative and introspective. It was very much cerebral, sativa-dominant marijuana. Legs were really short on this, and it left me with some intense munchies. I ate a 4oz tub of spicy garlic hummus and most of a box of pretzel crackers. Once I started there was no stopping.
Overall, OMG Sykes has been pretty consistently awesome. I'm just not impressed with this product at all. The bud was dried far too hard and it hurt to smoke it. The high was incredibly short. The effects and aftereffects, from the perspective of treating nausea and lack of appetite were significant.
