I've never heard of Grow State - probably because they're clear across the state in Spokane - but this was a decent sized joint for a good price, and I've wanted to try this strain for quite a while. This is Irie at it's best, a strain named for the place Bob Marley was born or some such legend.
My first thought about this pot was "Barney! My Pebbles!" It smells exactly like Fruity Pebbles. The joint was decently rolled, and I smoked it outside by my garage - that's my cedar siding in the picture background.
The flavor on this marijuana is incredibly fruity and pungent. There was a mix of deep blackberry and sharp bright blueberry as well, and a faint candy lemon on the exhale. You don't usually expect to get this much flavor out of a pre-roll and I am impressed. The smoke was robust but not coughy.
My high was really stoned. I sat and thought about nothing for like two hours just giggling and having a good time talking with my wife and planning a fun trip together.
The joint burned really well - most pre-rolls have a run or some tough spot or a fast area - this one was super consistent throughout the smoke. The ash stayed fairly solid while smoking it - I had to basically grind it off on the edge of my favorite joint ashtray - a cider bottle cap. They're a convenient size and good for taking off the whole cherry if you're going to quit the joint - which I did.
I saved about a third of this joint and had it with coffee the next day. It was great and smoothed out my morning. I really enjoyed this pre-roll and hope to see GrowState on the shelves again.
